European Union Trademarks

A European Union Trademark offers a unitary trademark protection throughout the entire European Union.

European Union Trademarks may be filed with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), the central industrial property office of a Member State, or the Benelux Trademark Office.

A European Union Trademark may consist of any signs that are capable of being represented graphically, particularly words, including personal names, figures, letters, numerals, and the shape of goods or their packaging, provided that such signs are capable of distinguishing the goods or services of one undertaking from those of other undertakings.

Registration is valid for ten years as of the date of filing of the application and can be extended in each case for a further ten years.
